PAM & PIM Solutions for Privileged Access
Administrator accounts open every door in your IT environment, which makes them the first thing an intruder looks for. VOWTECH designs, deploys and supports privileged access management and privileged identity management for organisations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and across the UAE, so powerful access is granted deliberately, briefly and on the record.
Standing Admin Rights Are a Standing Risk
In many organisations a handful of accounts can reset any password, read any mailbox and delete any backup. Those accounts are often shared between engineers, used for everyday work, protected by passwords that never change and known to suppliers who finished their project long ago. One stolen credential of that kind turns a minor incident into a serious one.
Privileged access management (PAM) deals with the accounts and sessions: credentials are stored in a vault, rotated automatically and checked out when needed, with sessions to servers and network devices brokered and recorded. Privileged identity management (PIM) deals with roles: nobody holds administrator rights permanently, and elevation is requested, approved and time-limited.
The two approaches complement each other, and the right mix depends on whether your estate is mainly on-premises, mainly cloud such as Microsoft 365, or both. VOWTECH assesses what you have, recommends a proportionate solution and carries out the configuration and onboarding.
Two Disciplines, One Objective
Both reduce the damage a compromised administrator account can cause. They simply start from different ends.
Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Controls the credentials themselves. Administrator, root, service and device passwords live in an encrypted vault, and engineers connect through the PAM platform without ever seeing the password.
Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
Controls who holds which role and for how long. Users are eligible for a privileged role but must activate it, with justification, approval and MFA, for a limited period.
Monitoring & Audit
The layer that makes privileged activity visible. Every request, approval, checkout and session is logged, giving you a reliable answer to the question of who did what, and when.
Privileged Access Implementation Services
The building blocks of a working privileged access programme.
Privileged Account Discovery
We locate privileged accounts across directories, servers, databases, network devices and cloud tenants, including dormant, shared and service accounts that have been forgotten.
Credential Vaulting & Rotation
Privileged passwords and keys are moved into a vault with rotation policies, so credentials change regularly and immediately after each use where required.
Just-in-Time Access
Permanent administrator membership is replaced with eligible roles that are activated on demand, approved where appropriate and expire automatically.
MFA & Role-Based Access
Multi-factor authentication is enforced on every privileged action, and roles are redesigned around least privilege so each administrator has only the rights the job requires.
Session Monitoring & Recording
Remote sessions to critical systems are routed through a gateway that records activity and can terminate a session. Logs can be forwarded to your SIEM solution.
Access Reviews & Audit Reports
Scheduled reviews confirm that each privileged role is still needed. Reports show who holds access, who approved it and how it was used.
From Account Discovery to Controlled Access
Introduced in stages so administrators are never locked out of the systems they look after.
Assessment
Privileged accounts, current practices and the systems that matter most are identified.
Policy Design
Roles, approval rules, rotation schedules and emergency access procedures are defined.
Pilot Deployment
The solution is deployed for a small group of systems and administrators and refined.
Onboarding & Configuration
Remaining accounts and systems are onboarded in waves, and administrators are trained.
Monitoring & Review
Alerts, reports and periodic access reviews keep the controls effective over time.
Why Privileged Access Needs Its Own Controls
Ordinary account security is not enough for accounts that can override everything else.
Attackers Aim for Admin
Ransomware operators typically seek administrator rights before acting. Removing standing privileges slows them down.
No More Shared Logins
Actions are tied to a named individual, which supports accountability and makes investigations possible.
Safer Supplier Access
Vendors receive time-limited, recorded access to the system they support instead of a permanent password.
Deployed and Supported Locally
VOWTECH is based in Abu Dhabi and supports the platform, the directory and the servers behind it.
PAM & PIM Questions
What is the difference between PAM and PIM?
Is privileged access management only for large enterprises?
Does this work with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID?
What happens if the PAM system is unavailable in an emergency?
