Vulnerability Assessment for Your IT Environment
VOWTECH carries out vulnerability assessments for businesses in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and across the UAE. We systematically scan and review networks, servers, endpoints and cloud settings for missing patches, weak configurations and exposed services, then hand you a validated, prioritised list your IT team can work through.
A Complete Inventory of What Needs Fixing
Most successful attacks do not rely on anything exotic. They use a server that missed an update, a default password on a network device, a forgotten test system or a service exposed to the internet by accident. A vulnerability assessment is the methodical search for exactly those conditions across everything you run, before somebody else goes looking.
The emphasis is on breadth. Where penetration testing digs deep into selected targets and proves exploitation, an assessment covers the whole estate without attempting to break in, which makes it safe to run regularly and practical for organisations of any size. Many businesses treat it as routine hygiene alongside patching and endpoint security.
Raw scanner output is noisy, so we validate results, remove false positives and rank what is left by how exposed the system is and how much it matters to you. The technical findings can also feed a wider security risk assessment when leadership needs the organisational picture.
Three Angles on the Same Environment
A weakness that is invisible from the internet may be obvious from inside the office. A thorough assessment looks from each direction.
External Assessment
Scanning from the internet to see what the outside world sees: public IP addresses, published services, remote access portals, mail and web servers, and forgotten systems still answering.
Internal Authenticated Assessment
Scanning from inside the network with read-only credentials, which lets the tools inspect installed software and settings directly. This gives far more accurate results than guessing from outside.
Configuration & Cloud Review
Many weaknesses are settings rather than missing patches. We review firewall rules, directory policies and cloud tenant settings such as Microsoft 365 against recognised hardening guidance.
What the Assessment Includes
Six pieces of work that turn a scan into something your team can act on.
Asset Discovery
You cannot assess what you do not know about. We begin by discovering live hosts, devices and services, which frequently reveals equipment nobody had on a list.
Network Vulnerability Scan
Firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers and other network equipment are scanned for outdated firmware, exposed management interfaces and risky services.
Server & Application Checks
Windows and Linux servers, databases and business applications are checked for missing updates, unsupported versions and common misconfigurations.
Endpoint Patch Review
Workstations and laptops are sampled or fully scanned for operating system and application patch levels, local administrator rights and the state of security software.
Validation & Prioritisation
Findings are checked by an engineer, false positives are removed, and each item is ranked by severity, exposure and the importance of the affected system to your business.
Remediation Report
A clear report groups findings by system and by fix, so one patch cycle or configuration change can close many items at once. Remediation help is available from our engineers.
From Scope to Remediation Plan
Designed to run quietly alongside normal business operations.
Initial Consultation
We agree which networks, sites and cloud services are in scope and arrange scanning access.
System Analysis
Assets are discovered and grouped, and critical systems are identified for careful handling.
Vulnerability Scanning
External and internal scans are run at agreed times, with settings chosen to avoid disruption.
Evaluation & Prioritisation
Results are validated by an engineer and ranked by severity, exposure and business importance.
Report & Recommendations
You receive the findings, a fix plan and a review session with your IT team.
Why Assess Regularly
New vulnerabilities are published constantly and IT environments never stand still. An assessment is a snapshot worth repeating.
Environments Drift
New devices, software and quick fixes accumulate. Regular assessments catch what change control missed.
Patching With a Purpose
A ranked list tells your IT team where limited maintenance time has the greatest effect.
Measurable Progress
Comparing each assessment with the last shows whether exposure is shrinking or growing.
Findings You Can Hand Over
As an Abu Dhabi-based IT services company, VOWTECH can also carry out the remediation work if you wish.
